Dan Hofmeister is a senior financial analyst in the global reinsurance ratings division of AM Best. Dan is responsible for a rating portfolio consisting of global reinsurers, captives and U.S. domestic writers. Dan, who joined AM Best in 2014, also has been involved with numerous Best’s Special Reports and special projects. In his time at AM Best, Dan has covered various sectors of the PC Industry, ranging from single-state domestic carriers to international reinsurers.

As part of his regularly duties, Dan oversees the completion of AM Best’s reinsurance composite data, World’s Top 50 Reinsurers and estimate of Dedicated Reinsurance Capital in AM Best’s annual Global Reinsurance Report. He also is an active member of AM Best’s Investment Working Group, which analyzes unique investments for BCAR capital credit.

Dan holds a B.S. Finance from Pennsylvania State University and holds the professional designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and various other industry designations.
