Paul has 36 years’ insurance and reinsurance broking experience in Southern Africa.

He learnt his trade through broking Treaty portfolio’s both in South Africa and across the continent.

In 2009, Paul joined Aon, and in 2016 was promoted to CEO of Aon Reinsurance Solutions in Africa.

He is a team player who knows the South African and African markets like a true specialist. He is well known in the African, London, European and Bermudian reinsurance markets.

Aon Reinsurance Solutions comprises a team of 70 people in South Africa, servicing over 15 countries throughout sub-saharan Africa offering both treaty and facultative broking services.

With the last few years having provided a number of unique challenges such as Covid (Non-Damage BI), riots in South Africa of previously unrealized proportions, changes in legislation not only in South Africa, but across a number of territories, currency fluctuation and lack of access of hard currency in a number of countries - Paul has had his fair share of challenges. The market conditions globally were challenging at the time of January 2023 renewals, Paul and his team succeeded in placing some of the largest Catastrophe programmes on the continent.
